A common mistake of scrum teams is to see the Scrum Master as some sort of secretary. This probably stems from the SM organizing the scrum meetings. However the SM is not a secretary nor the spokesperson/messenger of the team.

The development team should communicate directly with the Product Owner and other stakeholders, it is not the job of the scrum master to pass on messages. Going through an extra person will add to the time required to create the message and pass it on as well as the increased likelihood of miscommunication.
